2. Overview
Peydey is an iOS app for tracking your personal net worth locally. Data protection is central to the product: the app contains no analytics SDK, no tracking, and no advertising. By default, all data you enter stays exclusively on your device.
3. Data Processed
3.1 Local storage on your device
Assets, liabilities, and their history are stored in a SQLite database on your iPhone only. Only the Peydey app on your device can access this data. It is never transmitted to us or any third party.
App preferences (language, colour scheme, display currency, demo mode) are stored locally through Apple's UserDefaults mechanism.
3.2 Optional Excel synchronisation
If you actively link an Excel file within the app, Peydey accesses only the file you have selected — either locally on the device or in your own iCloud Drive. The file remains in your possession; we have no access to it.
3.3 Optional "Dynamic Cloud" subscription (iCloud sync)
If you activate the paid "Dynamic Cloud" subscription, your net-worth data
is mirrored into your personal, private iCloud database
(Apple CloudKit, Private Database, custom zone
iCloud.ch.fabianjaeggi.Peydey). The data remains tied to your
Apple account and is stored encrypted by Apple. We do not have access to
this data at any time.
Apple is the data controller for processing within iCloud. For details, see the Apple Privacy Policy.
3.4 Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases are handled exclusively through your Apple App Store account (StoreKit). We do not receive any payment information. Peydey is only informed whether an active subscription exists.
3.5 What Peydey does not do
- No third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising tools
- No cookies, no fingerprinting
- No user accounts, no registration, no password
- No reading of contacts, location, or photos
4. Legal basis (GDPR)
Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) — the app can only fulfil its core function with the data you enter. All processing occurs locally or in a storage location you have explicitly chosen (Excel file, your iCloud).
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have, among others, the following rights:

- Data portability (Art. 20)
- Objection (Art. 21)
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77)
Since all data lives locally on your device, you can exercise access and erasure yourself at any time — by viewing the data in the app, deleting individual entries, or uninstalling the app. If "Dynamic Cloud" is enabled, you can additionally delete your data via iOS Settings → "Apple ID → iCloud → Manage iCloud Storage → Peydey".
6. Retention
Local data is retained as long as the app is installed or until you delete it manually. iCloud data persists until you delete it or end your subscription.

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy when the legal situation or app features change. The current version is always available on this page.
